This is Pauline, Boone's wife. Every year on or near his birthday, he has his annual physical. His doctor told him that he had "Immature blood cells" and referred him to a hemotologist. To Boone's great surprise when he arrived for the appointment, the hemotologist was an oncologist. They drew blood and the Oncologist, Dr. K, wanted to know why I was not with him. Next visit he said, I better be there. A month later, we went to the appointment. Blood was drawn. Dr. K. said it could be a couple of things, and ordered a bone marrow biopsy. On the 3rd month, we heard the diagnosis of CMML.

ALL THINGS MUST PASS

The cheese kept with Mr. Harrison's promise and after a goodly amount of pain and a long drug assisted nap has passed.  I was on clear food for a couple of meals but now I'm back to regular food.  I was a bit worried that Dr. B who has the duty this week might have a different opinion but it seems that all the Dr's and I are on the same page.  That's nice.
So basically we are back on course with the GVHD vs. steroids and testing to see if my GI tract can maintain handling regular, if bland, food.  Still so far so good.
I feel like since you went to the trouble of stopping by that I should entertain you in some way but frankly there is nothing else to tell from here.  I have a a couple of close calls or very minor leaks on the ostomy bag but those are stories that you'd really want to hear.
My platelet count last night was 27 so they gave me platelets twice to get the level up to do the photopheresis.  The platelets went down to 20.  After a bit of discussion with the Nurses Practitioner to put off the procedure until tomorrow.  So platelets again tonight, maybe a dose early of Nurse A can swing it.
Tune in tomorrow for the results.

"back on course" is enough entertainment for me. I am glad to hear this.

On a good note for you, when I told my cancer dr. that you had GVHD, she said that was good.
WHY?! I had to ask...
Because it means the Cancer is totally gone.
I guess it's a glass half-full attitude. You would like her as your dr. too. Very blunt, does not try to sugar coat anything.

hope your day goes well.

Sorry for the pain. I know that a 9 is no joke. Glad that part is over and glad you are back on food. Still thinking about what concerts I have been to. Most of them you were at, but I did see ShaNaNa, Captain Beefheart and Frank Zappa in New York with Jim Garland, Jefferson Starship in Cleveland also with Jim and Neil Diamond at the Ryman in 1972. I bartended at a Ricky Nelson concert in Gatlinburg. Ha. Remember seeing the Earl Scruggs Revue in Gatlinburg when we first moved to Knoxville? I guess I could add Diana Ross (Murfreesboro) and Mary Wilson (Owensboro, KY 2x). My favorite memories may be the one at the racetack with Focus and Pink Floyd in Atlanta, but you have already covered those. See you tomorrow.

It's not a concert, but I have to tell you my story from this weekend.

We cleaned the garage... not the story, but in it, I found some old 8 tracks from Steve's mom. AND then Steve realized we had his 8 track player in the garage. So for Fun, we put one in... IT WORKED! The Neil Diamond was fun to listen to.

It reminded me of the 8 track player in your car.

Hope today was better then the day before.

It was Randy Scruggs. Cant recall what they called the band. Old HS mates of mine. Remember how Bruce was so freaked out that I knew them?
The Gatlinburg Civic Center wasn't it? Hadn't thought about that in a long time. ;]

It was the civic center. I remember that you knew them from HS and that Bruce was freaked out. Pretty funny.
