This is Pauline, Boone's wife. Every year on or near his birthday, he has his annual physical. His doctor told him that he had "Immature blood cells" and referred him to a hemotologist. To Boone's great surprise when he arrived for the appointment, the hemotologist was an oncologist. They drew blood and the Oncologist, Dr. K, wanted to know why I was not with him. Next visit he said, I better be there. A month later, we went to the appointment. Blood was drawn. Dr. K. said it could be a couple of things, and ordered a bone marrow biopsy. On the 3rd month, we heard the diagnosis of CMML.

SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY

The bloody Sunday would be in the British slang since, not the literal since as in the U2 title.  It's a really slow day.  My back is aching.  I tried to get up and walk but couldn't pull it off.  Maybe I can pull off some rubber band  exercises later this afternoon.  Also it seems that I have insulted or hurt the feelings of one of the nurses so I've got some apologizing to do next time I see them.  It appears that sometimes I say things that are hurtful  that I in no way meant them to be.  If I have said something with which you took offense please know that, at least in all likelihood, I meant no insult.  I may disagree with you but I try not to be offense about it.  It seems I am often not successful in that endeavor so I'll try and do better.
A couple of friends just left. They just happened to arrive at the same time which was good because one comes by fairly often and the other was just figuring out the lay of the land.  Kathi found the book I have been asking if she had run across so I think I'll start on it and see if it's as good as it sounds.  Its a murder mystery by Steven Saylor.  Its set in 80 B.C. Rome and features Gordianus the Finder.  Anybody read it?

Is it a family trait to insult someone and not know it until later? I think I'm good at it too. Good luck with your apologize.

I'm trying to learn how to fix my Apple ID mess. I think I MIGHT have it fixed. I can't play my Words with Friends until I get it figured out. What a great way to spend a Sunday Afternoon.

I was amused when I read what you wrote about someone taking offense at what one may say. That is my memory of my first impression of something that happened. I was a very lost caregiver having just realized the depth of my husband's condition, LBD, and it seemed the only person in the world who knew anything about it to give me understanding comfort was Kathi. She taught me everything I needed to know about taking care of Mr Bobby. Along came you writing on her Blog and I mistakenly thought that you made a remark putting down elderly people so I took you to task for it. Kathi jumped to your defense and assured me that you loved older people, in fact, you were in the process of caring for an elderly relative with all the love in the world. I did not understand until later about your wonderful giving heart, always helping with a smile and beautiful sense of humor which I learned to appreciate more and more as it carried me through many a lonly day and night as I cared for Mr. Bobby. I'm glad I scolded you so I could find the real you. I think of what I could have missed.

Speaking of insults. I hope you don't mind, I gave your blog to the 4MMile followers. I think you are starting to hear from them. Do I need to apologize? If so, it's too late. The damage has been done. We have at least 8 states playing.

Boone, I am insulted, you didn't do anything to hurt my feelings. You must try harder.....Your photo looks like you are trying to hypnotize me, stop it...... I won't be under your control.....

I had to smile at this one! Boone, I can tell from across the computer that you're a great guy to know. Some people are overly sensitive! Or possibly, as sometimes turns out, the person you fear you offended is really ok with you, it was something else bothering them and your remark only seemed to cause offense.

The book set in 80 BC Rome sounds interesting. The Roman Empire was an amazing machine- it accomplished so much (both good, and sometimes bad). Hope you enjoy it.

Your "stalker" enjoyed meeting you too. I have heard some very sweet things about you. What captured my heart was the stories about your dogs. I gave Denise The Art of Racing in the Rain and told her you needed to read it. Anyway...the pleasure was mine.
